This course is one in American Literature. We will be reading the works of important American authors as we learn to be critical readers and effective writers.
I am married with two sons. I grew up in Morris County but fell in love with beautiful Sussex County after I moved here at the age of 18. I especially love the safe and respectable atmosphere of Branchville.
I put myself through college with the support of my husband. I have had many career interests over the years -- most of them rather impractical -- astronaut, pilot, genetics counselor, psychologist, and, of course, teacher -- the most rewarding career of all.
I believe that being involved in literature enriches your life because you become acquainted with characters of all classes and cultures. Getting to know a wide variety real people on such an intimate level would be difficult to say the least.
We will begin the year with a review of basic research skills that you learned in ninth grade. The first research activities you do will build your background knowledge for the novel, Of Mice and Men. Next month you will do a larger, independent research project on a given topic.
